                About
Girl Scouts — Sangre de Cristo Council, Santa Fe
The Girl Scouts — Sangre de Cristo Council, the first Girl Scout troop west of the Mississippi river, is dedicated to developing well-rounded young women by inspiring girls with positive life choices including good character, conduct and service to their community. The first meeting was held at the Loretto Girls' Academy, currently the site of the Inn at Loretto. The Council was granted non-profit status in 1952. The Girl Scout program promotes self-assurance, understanding of others, the highest personal values, patriotism and contributions to society. Girl Scouting at all levels means building skills today for the careers of tomorrow. Girl Scouting is for Every Girl Everywhere.
