WHELAN PRESS, Santa Fe
Welcome to Whelan Press, a revolutionary redesign of 500-year-old printmaking technology. It has been quite an odyssey. Whelan Press was formed in 1996 in Santa Fe, New Mexico, an area well known for printmaking. Our goal has been to design a fine art press that is portable and affordable without sacrificing performance. Five years of research and development conducted in our open print lab went into the first production model, the WP3163SS. Every press component was studied and challenged, from the moving press bed to the large diameter print rollers. We are grateful for the suggestions from countless creative artists and printmakers working in diverse mediums that helped us in developing our press. We continue to gain new insights and remain committed to making the Whelan Press the artist's choice.
