Souder, Miller & Associates is a civil engineering, environmental engineering, and environmental science consulting firm that serves the Southwest and Rocky Mountain states. Souder, Miller & Associates (SMA) was founded in 1984 with the acquisition of San Juan Engineers in Farmington. The Santa Fe office opened in 1992 after a merger with an environmental science consulting company, Karl Souder & Associates. The Albuquerque and Las Cruces offices were opened in late 1994; the Cortez, Colorado, office in mid-2002; and the Monticello, Utah, office in late 2003, each in response to the needs of our clients in New Mexico and the surrounding states. In 2002 SMA acquired On Site Technologies in Farmington; and became affiliated with iiná bá, a Native American-owned consulting firm that is also in Farmington.
